  • Proofread! use others to check work too- people who may not know you, does this make them know you. – use people who know you too for their opinion of you.
  • use grammarly – quill bot
  • personal- focus on you!- need to understand who you are
  • Things to include- aspirations, interests/ hobbies, strengths- SWOT- don’t need to talk about qualifications- can include extra qualifications though.
  • supports your application in the university process
  • why do you want to study it and why
  • show you are passionate about your chosen field
  • one statement covers all- doesn’t need to be tailored to a certain uni.
  • what makes you better
  • what makes your stand out
  • brainstorm what makes you excited about the course
  • focus on the course- what inspires you to take the course- be excited
  • use examples of your life- transferable skills
  • what do you do that’s interesting
  • ask other people
  • punchy opening para- excitement- what I’m getting myself into- understand the course and why you are suited to it- look at the modules- make notes- know the structure of the course. – what special items does the course have- why does it appeal to you. a little something about you too
  • middle- prove your interest- sprinkle e skills and interests- wider you- what can you bring to the community- will you fit in- is there something special about you.- fav films and tv shows- subscriptions.- back up yourself(show them the money)- open days- essential!!!, lectures, FMP,
  • final- personal- interests- how to involve in uni life
  • multiple drafts!!!- as many as your need- 5 or 6 maybe.
  • end of November due in!!!
